1982. RainSweet was incorporated in Oregon by a group of berry growers, eager to process the fruit they grew. RainSweet quickly developed into a specialty quick-frozen (IQF) processor and marketer of frozen fruits and vegetables.
1992. The RainSweet family attracted other growers. A cooperative, RS Growers Coop Inc., was formed. They agreed to deliver fruit to RainSweet for processing and marketing.
1999. RainSweet became a wholly owned subsidiary of RS Growers. The cooperative includes 37 grower-owners, with total sales of over $20 million.
RainSweet is a recognized leader in the supply of premium fruits and vegetables to the foodservice industry. Most of the production serves a US market; the balance is sold to Pacific Rim countries and Canada.
